I Am Sun is a foundational member of the One Love Co-Op, providing curriculum & content for a more compassionate world. In this virtual/hybrid global micro-school, families become a part of a community for nurturing responsible, compassionate, and brilliant world citizens.
The Concept: What if the 13 years of academics were to prepare for life in this big diverse planet? College-prep is light work. Loving and understanding ourselves and the world is what matters.
We got you for both.
Prepare for college entrance {GED/SAT-prep into college credits} and holistic global learning from the age of 3 onward, all while building a sense of love for ourselves & our community - and / or - receive fun and easy, individualized tutoring in subject(s) of your choice.
Discover the connection between multi-cultural indigenous perspectives and Western science and history. I Am Sun is a "magnet un-school" curriculum for those who know that life is so much more than how we learn about it in regular schools.
In the Congo, a kindezi is a person in the village who, with no children of their own, becomes a teammate with the parents in the village. In I Am Sun, you and your children gain a life-long teacher-aunty who helps you raise your child's minds and imaginations from as early as Pre-K all the way to college.

Who is I Am Sun for? I Am Sun is a program for students [Pre-K to Adult] who are ready for something more out of their school experience - something that teaches them about the world and the power of love in it - and gives them the skills to take on higher education. It is for those who care about kindness, responsibility, diversity, justice and love. You can find I Am Sun curriculum taught through the years at Sankofa Homeschool Collective, Kuumba Prep, Roots PCS & Kamali Academy & now, in our own international, hybrid micro-school for youth-GED & global-prep.

Harvest 2 Health is a local, pesticide-free Black farmer organization in the DMV who partners with University of Maryland and local Pan-African churches
Once your students pass the GED --(in D.C., you have to be 16 to take the exam, and we will be prepping your scholars from the age of 3:) -- they can then go directly to udc.edu/apply to apply for the non-degree program, in order to start on their foundational college credits. I Am Sun is currently working to establish a dual enrollment program with the city to ease this transition as well.
University of the People (UoPeople) is the first non-profit, tuition-free, American, accredited, online university dedicated to opening access to higher education globally. UoPeople provides a unique and essential opportunity for qualified high school graduates in the fields of: Business, Computer Science,Health Science, Education (inc. ESL)
